3M Cold shrink connector insulator in black color is made of specially formulated EPDM material to provide permanent, durable environment sealing and insulation. It can accommodate 10 - 1/0 AWG copper and aluminum wires of 0.100 - 0.820 Inch. Connector insulator has a voltage rating of 600 Volts. It is non-shielded and has a temperature rating of -40 to 194 deg F. Insulator is designed for 3-Inch connectors. It offers tape shielding, wire shielding and unisheilding. Insulator has a relaxed tube length of 8 inches. Connector insulator is RoHS compliant and meets ANSI C1191.1 standards.

Products are supplied prestretched on a removable core for efficiency and ease of installation. Removal of the core (unwinding) after positioning the splice allows the product to shrink into position forming a moisture-tight seal. The live memory action of the specially formulated EPDM material promotes a permanent, durable environmental seal and insulation, with a typical operating temperature range from -40û194¦F (-40û90¦C).The 8420 insulator meets requirements of ANSI C119-1 and Western Underground Guide 2.14 for secondary splices rated up to 1 : Primary electrical insulation for all solid dielectric (rubber and plastic) insulated wire and cable splicing rated to 1000 V.
