They are used with log splitters and highway, agricultural, and material handling equipment. In-line forced-air oil coolers use a motor-driven fan to cool hydraulic oil as it passes through the heat exchanger's core or coil. They are installed in a variety of systems, including truck lifts, log splitters, and auto hoists. Sometimes called heat exchangers, they are installed in-line with the hydraulic power unit and pass oil through a coil or core to cool the oil before it can enter the system. Keeping hydraulic oil cool helps extend system life by reducing wear and damage caused by excess heat. Heated oil causes excess wear on seals, surfaces, and other components, which can cause particulate buildup and damage components.
