Flat-free wheels are heavier than pneumatic or semipneumatic wheels, and they provide more shock absorption than semipneumatic wheels. Pneumatic, semipneumatic, and flat-free wheels have air-filled, foam-filled, or solid-rubber tires that absorb more shock and vibration and produce less noise than standard wheels. These wheels are used on carts, trucks, dollies, and other equipment that will be transporting fragile or vibration-sensitive loads in laboratory, medical, or aerospace facilities. They are also installed on wheelbarrows and other equipment that will be used for moving loads over rough or uneven surfaces in outdoor areas and industrial facilities.
