This reduces the physical effort it takes to operate them and move them over long distances, and it allows them to travel on inclined surfaces such as sloped floors or ramps. Also known as electric stackers and walkie stackers, powered stackers allow loads to be loaded, lifted, and moved over long distances more quickly than other types of stackers. Their motor is powered by a rechargeable battery. Counterbalanced stackers have more weight behind their forks than fork-over and straddle stackers and don't require outrigger legs to stabilize them. This lets them get closer to loads than fork-over and straddle stackers. It also allows them to pick up closed-bottom and open-bottom pallets and skids and place them in areas where stackers with projecting legs could not fit. They are used for racking, stacking, truck unloading, and feeding materials into machines.
