The Corning Ultra Low Attachment Surface is a covalently bound hydrogel layer that is hydrophilic and neutrally charged. Since proteins and other biomolecules passively adsorb to surfaces through hydrophobic and ionic interactions, this hydrogel surface naturally inhibits nonspecific immobilization via these forces, thus inhibiting subsequent cell attachment. This Ultra Low Attachment Surface has been shown to successfully inhibit attachment of anchorage dependent MDCK, VERO, and C6 cells grown for a period of time equal to that necessary to obtain confluent cell growth on the control surface (standard tissue culture treated polystyrene). This surface has also been shown to prevent the attachment and activation of macrophages and neutrophils. These plates are not tested for endoto x in.
Dishes have stacking beads to aid in handling and are supplied with vents to provide consistent gas e x change. For the 60 mm size, appro x imate growth surface area is 21 cm 2 while actual inside growth surface diameter is 51.4 mm. Dish height is 15 mm. For the 100 mm size, appro x imate growth surface area is 55 cm 2 while actual inside growth surface diameter is 80.5 mm. Dish height is 20 mm.
