Eaton / Cutler Hammer 3-Pole Double-throw switch is designed to transfer service from normal power source to alternate power source or switches one load circuit to another. It is suitable for installing in control NEMA 1 indoor enclosure. It uses double-break, quick-make and quick-break rotary blade mechanism for faster switching operation. It has power rating of 3 hp at 1-Phase 240 VAC, 10 hp at 3-Phase 240 VAC and 5 hp at 250 VDC. It measures 11.190 Inch x 11.950 Inch x 25.020 Inch. It has tri-lingual nameplate for easy device identification. Switch prevents access to internal wiring during ON position.
Switch has two points of contact that provides positive open and close for easier switching mechanism. Heavy-duty switch has voltage rating of 240 VAC/250 VDC and current rating of 30 Amps. It uses large hasp that accommodates up to three 3/8-Inch shanks for providing triple padlocking capability to prevent access to unauthorized user. It has clearly visible red color rotary handle and embossed ON/OFF indicator for working in low light area. De-ionizing arc chutes are used in switch for suppressing arc produced by opening contacts under load.
Switch is provided with round shroud and ample wire bending space for easier installation. Clear line shield feature in switch protects against accidental contact with energized parts and is supplied with probe hole for testing energized line without removing shield. Tangential knockouts on top, side and bottom enables easy access to conduit. Additional locking option is provided with switch for padlocking top and bottom of cabinet door. It is 100% load-make and load-break rated. Switch is UL listed.
