These grate magnets consist of magnetic tubes arranged in a grid pattern and welded into a rectangular or square housing. The housing allows the magnetic tubes in the grate to slide out for efficient cleaning. The housing can be installed inline into chutes or ducts, making these grates ideal for enclosed flow lines or screen discharges. Bulk material falls through the grate during conveying, and the magnetic tubes capture any ferrous particles and parts that are in the material so they can be removed. This helps prevent ferrous particles and parts from contaminating bulk products during conveying, getting into machinery downstream and causing damage, and potentially creating a spark that could ignite explosive materials. Magnetic separators use high-strength magnets to capture and remove ferrous particles and parts (sometimes known as tramp metal) from gravel, sand, powders, pellets, wood chips, food products, and other solid materials in bulk conveying applications.
