Product Overview

The 2217129 from Loctite is a LOCTITE® HY 4080 GY cyanoacrylate/acrylic hybrid structural adhesive. This LOCTITE® HY 4080 GY is a 2-part, grey, cyanoacrylate/acrylic hybrid structural adhesive providing toughness and excellent adhesion to metals, composites and plastics. It provides fast fixture at room temperature and high operational strength within the first hour. It has good resistance to peel and impact loads while maintaining high shear strength over a wide range of temperatures and larger gaps. Best application results are achieved with LOCTITE® 50ml adhesive mixing nozzle (IDH 1826921) and LOCTITE® 400ml adhesive mixing nozzle (IDH 1573135). This adhesive is used for bonding wide range of materials.
  • 50g quantity, dual cartridge adhesive
  • Chemical type (part A) is cyanoacrylate and chemical type (part B) is methacrylate
  • High viscosity (thixotropic), 355N/mm² tensile modulus, ISO 527-3
  • Shear strength is 15.7N/mm² (aluminium (abraded)), 20.4N/mm² (aluminium (etched))
  • Fast fixture at room temperature and high operational strength within the first hour
  • Good resistance to peel and impact loads while maintaining high shear strength
  • Substrate versatility, medium fixture time, excellent impact resistance
  • Fixture time is 10m (aluminium, 0.05mm gap) and 12m (aluminium, 2mm gap)
  • Black liquid appearance-part A, white to off-white paste appearance-part B, grey appearance (mixed)
  • Mix ratio, by volume part A: part B is 1 : 1
