Product Overview

The MAX525BCPP+ is a low power, quad, 12bit voltage output DAC with serial interface in 20 pin DIP package. It has four voltage outputs and each amplifier’s negative input is also available to the user. It facilitates specific gain configurations, remote sensing and high output drive capacity, making it ideal for industrial process control applications. Each DAC has a double-buffered input organized as an input register followed by a DAC register. A 16bit serial word loads data into each input/DAC register. The serial interface is compatible with SPI/QSPI and MICROWIRE. It allows the input and DAC registers to be updated independently or simultaneously with a single software command. The DAC registers can be simultaneously updated through the 3 wire serial interface. All logic inputs are TTL/CMOS logic compatible. Typical applications include automatic test equipment, digital offset and gain adjustment, motion control, remote industrial controls and microprocessor-controlled systems.
  • Supply voltage range is 4.5V to 5.5V
  • Operating temperature range from 0°C to 70°C
  • Power-on reset clears all registers and DAC to zero
  • Capable of recalling last state prior to shutdown
  • Simultaneous or independent control of DAC through 3 wire serial interface
  • User programmable digital output
  • Low supply current of 0.85mA in normal operation and 10μA in shutdown mode
  • Integral nonlinearity is ±1LSB
