  • Overview Recombinant, human BACE-1 (amino acids 1-460) fused at the C-terminus to a His• Tag ® sequence and expressed in NSO cells. Supplied as a mixture of the ~68-70 kDa proenzyme and the ~65-67 kDa mature enzyme. BACE-1 is an aspartic protease that has been shown to cleave the amyloid precursor protein β site in the brain to generate the amyloid β peptide. MW: ~65-70 kDa under reducing conditions.
