The wheels can be steam cleaned, and they will not chunk or separate. Ergonomic nylon tread wheels are used in manual push/pull applications where users wish to minimize the amount of push/pull force required to start equipment rolling, such as in manufacturing or warehousing applications. These wheels have plastic or phenolic treads and cores that resist corrosion. The wheels' tread and core are made from the same material. The wheels' hard treads provide smooth rolling and good maneuverability and are less damaging to floors than wheels with metal treads. Plastic and phenolic tread wheels are used on carts, racks, and similar equipment in a range of institutional and industrial applications.
