Bladder accumulators and accessories are used in medium flow-rate hydraulic systems to store pressurized hydraulic fluid and release it as needed in order to maintain steady pump flow and pressure, dampen vibrations and shocks, and compensate for leaks or thermal expansion in the system. They can also be used as a source of power in an emergency. Bladder accumulators are ideal for systems that experience shock and vibration and where pressure inside the accumulator and line is not more than 4:1. They have a larger capacity than diaphragm accumulators, handle shock better than piston accumulators, and are suitable for applications with medium flow rates up to 450 gpm. They are generally mounted vertically, but can also be mounted horizontally for some applications. Bladder accumulators are a good choice for most common applications, including agricultural machinery, mobile equipment, and machine tools.
